FIRST POLAR BEAR OFF GREENLAND

FIRST POLAR BEAR OFF GREENLAND

Ploughing through the ice pack off the coast of Eastern Greenland, having sailed across the Greenland Sea from Svalbard, we suddenly spotted the first of four polar bears all seen within approximately 2 hours of each other. This young male was very interested in the ship and tried to reach us, affording everyone a fantastic view. Before long, he by-passed us in favour of an old seal kill on an ice floe.
