DANISH AIR FORCE CHECKING ON US, ANTARCTIC SUND
Between landings, we were cruising down Antarctic Sund, a long fjord, and enjoying the icebergs and sunshine, when an announcement was made over the tannoy. The Danish Air Force had sent out a jet to check that we were where we said we'd be. Given we were hundreds of miles from the nearest settlement, this was some surprise, but after circling the ship twice, it disappeared again. Against the mountains, the iceberg looks relatively small, but in context of a small fighter jet flying past, it puts the size of these behemoths into perspective.
